Body-Analysis I: Tracing (2025, polaroid, tracing paper and ballpoint pen, 4.2x3.5 inches) is a “study” in a series of works that take the photograph of the self as “source material” but then end up leaving it behind altogether using departing material operations. This work is autobiographical and indexical, therefore an inherently faulty, failing and impossible as an “analysis.” What does it mean to represent the body purely through gesture? And what happens to our understanding of our form when we distill/dilute it to merely two dialectical lines?
